Bluehost

I had Bluehost from 2000-2006. I found that they did have decent uptime and customer support was fairly decent on the phone. I also found that many of the PHP scripts that I had purchased online during that time period would not work because Bluehost was overly restrictive with their settings. HostGator

HostGator has been around a while now and is quite popular with the internet marketing community. HostGator is certainly not perfect, but I like them most of the time.
